AB Yachts was born in
1992 with the aim to create a reference product in yachting. Since then, AB
Yachts marked some decisive stages in world shipbuilding industry.
For the first time water-jet propulsion was applied to
high-performances/small-dimensions boats. Structural glues have been introduced
in boat-building after careful studies with the most important companies
operating in the field of the compound materials. Finite elements programs have
been used in designing, in order to optimize resistant structures dimensioning.
These are only some of the innovations introduced by AB Yachts: a well
established company, provided with wide spaces for boats building and
assembling.
AB Yachts proposes itself as tomorrow's shipbuilding company.
AB Yachts is no doubt the technological point of reference for the whole yachting world. The decision to abandon the old traditional schemes - as far as ship-designing and building criteria are concerned - has been successful, leaving space to new techniques coming from much more innovative sectors than yachting. Thus the use of advanced composites, of particular resins, of sandwich vacuum consolidated - extended to everything which is in composite. The introduction of aerospatial-deriving structures, for which vibrations and expansion are not allowed, is one of the most consistent innovation, making the total elimination of vibrations-transmitting and fatigue-cracking screws and joints really possible.
AB Yachts chose water-jet propulsion: the best for those boats needing both excellent performances and a sea life-style based on comfort and safety. Researches report that the water-jet has a better efficiency to shafting transmission and to surface screws. Besides, it needs no maintenance, is easy to maneuver and safe in shallow water even where bathers are present.
