The new Marquis 500 Sport Coupé
is one of the latest yacht created through the partnership of Italy’s
Nuvolari-Lenard Naval Architects and Marquis, America’s foremost builder
of premium quality yachts. The result is a trend setting sport coupé
with styling, quality and performance that will stand out in any port
throughout the world.
One of the yacht’s striking features is its
sleekly sculpted exterior profile which is formed using Marquis’ unique
3-D multi-part hull and superstructure molding process. The results are
readily apparent on the hull’s aft quarter and chine as well as
throughout the yacht’s superstructure. This 3-D process not only
contributes to the yacht’s aesthetic appeal but also provides superior
strength that will be felt and appreciated while underway.
Propulsion is provided by three Volvo Diesel
engines equipped with innovative IPS drives. Performance is
exhilarating. When equipped with Volvo IPS Series 600’s the 500 Sport
Coupé is expected to exceed a top speed of 37 knots. The IPS joystick
makes docking and maneuvering this 50’ yacht in tight quarters a snap.
Nuvolari-Lenard’s heritage of designing the
world’s most innovative megayachts is obvious throughout the Marquis’
500 Sport Coupé’s interior design and appointments. When you step into
the yacht’s salon you immediately realize that this is a special yacht.
The 500 Sport Coupé’s zebrano or cherry cabinetry, wooden floors and
designer fixtures set this yacht apart from typical express style boats.
But it’s not just the components but also the hand crafted construction
that puts the 500 Sport Coupé firmly within yacht grade status.
People who love being on the water will place high
value on having the cockpit, salon, helm station and galley on the same
level. The yacht’s 4,65 m beam and 2,2 m of salon headroom provide a
huge solarium-like environment further enhanced by the expansive power
sunroof overhead. With a push of a button you can move the transom
lounge aft which expands the size of the cockpit even more. Below deck
is a master stateroom, two guest cabins and two head compartments each
with its own enclosed stall shower.
Marquis Yachts was awarded the 2008 World Yacht
Trophy’s Best Interior Design Award in recognition of the company’s new
500 Sport Coupé yacht. The award was announced in September 2008 during
the 2008 International Festival de Plaisance, which is Europe’s largest
yacht show held each year in Cannes, France
